Tricoya developed to challenge the most fundamental reason for wood swelling; water absorption onto hygroscopic wood fibres due to the presence of hydroxyl groups. The hydroxyl groups (water loving sites) can bind or release water molecules causing wood to swell or shrink. Acetylation is a revolutionary sustainable process which increases the number of naturally occurring hydrophobic groups in the wood cells using acetic anhydride. Thus enhancing the dimensional stability and durability of the wood.

All wood used in the Tricoya® production process is sourced from sustainable resources such as certified, reclaimed or recycled timber. Tricoya effectually substitutes for Metals, Plastics and Hard Tropical wood resulting in a significant reduction in our product carbon footprint.

HOW STRONG ARE SIPs
The structural characteristics of SIPs are similar to that of a steel I-beam. The OSB skins act as the flange of the I-beam, while the rigid foam core provides the web. This design gives SIPs an advantage when handling in-plane compressive loads.
sIP CORE THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY.
The low thermal conductivity of rigid polyurethane foam means that it finds widespread use as an insulation material.
PU insulation materials are based on rigid foam system with a closed cell content of > 90%. Its material density usually range from 38 kg/m3 to 42 kg/m3 having a U-Value of .17kW/m2 @ 124mm thickness. Excluding both face materials.
